Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Alia, on Friday, bid farewell to the late Fr. Joseph Agbecha, a revered priest of the Catholic Diocese of Gboko. The service took place at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Baptist in Gboko.
Governor Alia, present throughout the requiem mass and the final interment, praised the late Fr. Agbecha for embodying a simple, welcoming, and amiable lifestyle. He expressed the profound loss felt by the church, the community, and the late priest’s loved ones, urging everyone to pray for the peaceful repose of Fr. Joseph Agbecha’s soul.
During the ceremony, Governor Alia extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, encouraging them to find strength and comfort in their faith. The requiem mass, honoring the life of the late Fr. Joseph Agbecha, was presided over by Most Rev. William Avenya, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Gboko.
