The Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has left Nigeria for Washington D.C.
The purpose of his trip is to participate in an event organized by the Nigerian Professionals Network titled “Nurturing Nigeria’s Future – Activating New Partnerships: Mobilizing Nigerian Diaspora Resources for Impact Investment”. Governor Alia is set to deliver a keynote address at the event.
Also, he will hold a meeting with the Chairperson of the US Exim Bank. Governor Alia is also scheduled to join other global leaders at the World Bank/IMF Spring Meetings, taking place from April 15-19, 2024.
The goal of these engagements is to promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and networking opportunities. The focus is on harnessing the financial resources, expertise, and networks of the Nigerian diaspora to drive impactful investments in Nigeria.
Governor Alia will represent both Benue State and the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at the event.
The Benue State Government remains steadfast in its commitment to attracting investments, fostering entrepreneurship, and creating economic opportunities for its citizens.
Accompanying the Governor are several key government officials and experts, including the Commissioner of Finance, the Managing Director of BIPC, the Director-General of Budget & Planning, the Director-General of Entrepreneurship and Wealth Creation, a representative from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Personal Special Assistant on Infrastructure, the Technical Adviser on Investment, the Special Adviser on Special Duties & Intergovernmental Affairs, and a Finance Expert.”
