Governor Ortom settles Wike, Obaseki

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has reportedly reconciled Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and his Edo State counterpart, Godwin Obaseki.

IDOMA VOICE reports that Wike, Rivers State Governor, and his Edo State counterpart, Godwin Obaseki have been on warpath over party structure.

Wike’s war of words with Obaseki began with Edo State Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu threatening to leave the PDP due to a crisis in the state chapter.

Wike had described Shaibu as a khaki-wearing deputy governor with no father.

He described Obaseki as a serial betrayer and ungrateful person.

Wike, who rubbished Obaseki’s diatribe against him, said Edo Governor’s former godfather and former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomole, had been vindicated.
Reacting to the development in a statement he personally signed, Obaseki said his deputy “at no point threatened the party” as alleged by the Rivers governor.

The development created tensions between followers of both political leaders.

However, the warring PDP leaders have reconciled, thanks to Governor Ortom’s intervention.

Daily Post reports that Ortom brokered a meeting between the two governors on Tuesday in Abuja
