Chelsea boss Graham Potter explained his decision to take off Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the 64th minute of Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.
Potter said: “It was just to get Armando on, use his running power.
“He’s a player that we believe in as well, so it was a tough afternoon for Pierre, but it wasn’t about him, it’s about the team.
“As I’ve said before he’s been very respectful to Arsenal, to me, he’s been no problem at all.
“But it’s part of those decisions that you have to make as a coach.”
He added: “I think we huffed and puffed without having the real quality that you need when you play against a team that is in a good moment.
“Good confidence, good structure, Mikel‘s done a really good job over a period of time there and we’re in a slightly different phase of where we’re at.
“Confidence maybe isn’t quite as high, and in the end I think Arsenal deserved to win.”
