After rising to prominence first in Sweden, English manager Graham Potter has built up his portfolio, and he’s now seen as a top manager.
It was his job with Brighton & Hove Albion that has now earned Potter a chance at a ‘Big Six’ club.
The 47-year-old had signed a five-year contract with Chelsea following the sacking of Thomas Tuchel.
Potter’s new contract is as well a juicy one.
Potter initially signed a four-year contract with Brighton in May of 2019. After just six months in charge, he was handed an extension with the Seagulls until the summer of 2025.
According to reports, Potter earned around £2 million per year at Brighton, whereas Thomas Tuchel was said to have earned around £7 million per year at Chelsea before his dismissal.
The new Chelsea owners seem to have massive belief in Potter, and according to The Telegraph, he’s now one of the highest earning managers in the Premier League, with his wages around £12m-a-year.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is currently the highest-paid manager in England with wages of £15m-per-year at Man City. Jurgen Klopp earns around £12m-per-year at Liverpool.
Surely, Potter has seen a quantum leap in his fortunes. We wish him all the best at Stamford. And hopefully, Chelsea can have a long-term manager for once.
