Grammy award-winning songer-songwriter, Burna Boy -born Damini Ogulu- has reportedly charged Rivers State Government N100 million in order for him to honour the home coming concert the state is organizing in respect to his recent Grammy win.
Burna Boy, an indigene of Rivers State made the country proud after he became the first ever Nigerian to win the Grammy for his original work. His 2020 album ‘Twice as Tall’ won the Best Global Music Album category at the 63rd Grammy.
Consequently, the Rivers State Government announced a home coming concert for Burna Boy in Port Harcourt with Rivers’ very owns Duncan Mighty, Omah Lay, Nissi (Burna Boy’s sister), Timaya, and off course the celebrant, Burna Boy expected to perform, but according to social media reports, the celebrant may not show up at the occasion as he is reportedly demanding for N100 million as well as a private jet before he could come to the event.
A source who goes by the Twitter handle PH_Prinx wrote; “Burna boy charging the Rivers state government a N100M appearance fee plus a private jet for his upcoming homecoming concert in Port-Harcourt is very valid.”
The event is scheduled to hold Saturday 27th March 2021 at the EUI Event centre, Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
