Gunmen have reportedly abducted an Anglican priest, Reverend Agbadamashi Emmanuel, along with his wife and children.
The incident took place on Friday, October 6, along the East-West road by Evwreni junction, as reported by DAILY POST.
The cleric and his family were traveling from Ughelli to Uwheru community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State when the gunmen launched the attack and kidnapped them.
As of the current report, the cleric and his family remain in captivity.
Hon Justice Iyasere, the Public Relations Officer of the Anglican Communion, Ughelli Diocese, confirmed the incident during a telephone conversation with our correspondent in Warri. However, he could not ascertain if the kidnappers had made any ransom demands.
When contacted, DSP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, assured that he would provide further information from the police division as soon as it becomes available.
