Gunmen attack Benue Links bus near Burnt Bricks in Otukpo, open fire on passengers
Suspected gunmen on Saturday evening launched an attack on a Benue Links bus conveying passengers along the Otukpo axis of Benue State.
The commercial vehicle, which reportedly departed Makurdi en route to Lagos, was said to have been ambushed shortly after leaving Otukpo town, around the Burnt Bricks area.
Eyewitnesses said the assailants suddenly opened fire on the bus, causing panic among passengers.
In the process, three occupants sustained gunshot injuries, while others managed to flee the scene to safety.
It was further gathered that the injured victims were rushed to the Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, Otukpo, where they are currently receiving medical attention.
Details surrounding the attack remain sketchy as of the time of filing this report.
