Gunmen attack Gwaram community, kill village head, kidnap former PDP chairman, seven others in Zamfara

Residents in Gwaram were thrown in mourning when gunmen attacked their community located in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The gunmen who attacked the community in the early hours of Monday, December 1 killed the village head and abducted 8 persons.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Zamfara State Police Command Superintendent Shehu Mohammed disclosed that the wife of the District head of the area and former ward chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Musa Makeri were among those abducted by the bandits.

According to the police, the village head told the bandits he preferred to die in his community than to be taken to the bush.
