Gunmen attack Prison van in Anambra, kill 2 warders

No fewer than two officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service were shot dead after unknown gunmen ambushed a prison van conveying some suspects to court in Ekwulobia area of Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

It was gathered that the incident happened around 11am on Friday.

This is coming as the continue onslaught on security operatives in the state by criminals continue to escalate.

Twenty-four hours ago, naval officers and policemen were killed in different attacks in Anambra.

More than 10 officers have been killed in the last two weeks. Police stations have also been set ablaze.

However, the state Governor, Willie Obiano, had during the occasion of his seventh anniversary in office, insisted that the security architecture of the state has greatly improved under his watch.
