Gunmen dressed like Boko Haram attack passengers along Loko-Oweto-Otukpo road

Unknown gunmen have attacked passengers along the Loko-Oweto-Otukpo road.

IDOMA VOICE gathered that the passengers were attacked by the armed men who were dressed like members of the Boko Haram sect on Sunday afternoon immediately after the bridge while heading towards the first village in Loko Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

This attack came few days after the Nasarawa State Governor; Abdulahi Sule cried out to President Muhammadu Buhari that Boko Haram members have regrouped in Benue/Nasarawa borders.

Also, the Benue State Government had declared the road unsafe over the development.

Olikita Ekani, a media aide to Governor Samuel Ortom had warned motorists to be careful while plying the road.

One of the victims of the attack told IDOMA VOICE that a group of armed men came out from the bush and stopped the bus that conveyed them from Okpoga going to Abuja.

The victim, who gave her name as Joy, said immediately the driver parked, “they gunmen, who were masked and dressed like Boko (Haram) guys, with Hausa intonation, ordered everybody to go down and they started ransacking our bags.

“They didn’t injure anyone, but they took our bags and everything from us.

“While the operation was going on, there was no single motor on the road.

“The fled into the bush after disposing us of our valuables.”
