Egba community in Agatu local government area of Benue state, at the early hours of Monday 7th November 2022 woke to sporadic shootings and pursuit by suspected operatives of the Nigerian Army.
According to reliable sources from the community, the soldiers raided the community at about 6:00 am and took possession till about 11:00am before they left.
A situation which left people and children in hunger for many hours as they scampered for safety in bushes.
Highlights of the raid include; destruction of shops, bulging of houses, destruction of motorcycles and beating of a pregnant woman among others.
At the time of filing this report the reason for the raid remains officially unknown.
