Gunmen kidnap FRSC officer, neighbour in Benue

Gunmen have kidnapped a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer and another resident in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.

Zagazola Makama gathered that the abduction took place around 9:00 p.m. on November 9 at Asa 1, along Otobi Akpa Road in Otukpo.

According to eyewitnesses, about five armed men invaded a residence, broke down the door, and forcefully took away the FRSC official identified as Oketa Ejembi, along with a neighbour whose identity was yet to be confirmed at the time of this report.

The officer’s son, Daniel Oketa, promptly reported the incident to the police at approximately 9:43 p.m.

Following the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) mobilised a patrol team and tactical units to the scene.

Police authorities stated that efforts are ongoing to track down the abductors and ensure the safe rescue of the victims. 

Meanwhile, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has begun a full investigation into the incident.
