Unknown gunmen in the early hours of today killed a Benue-born Police officer, Chief Superintendent of police, Benedict Okoh Ajide, also known as Jack Bauer in Akwa Ibom State.
The gallant officer hailed from Edumoga District in Okpokwu local government area of Benue State, Nigeria.
Ajide and other police officers were killed at Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom state.
According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen also killed a yet-to-be ascertained number of military officers while many others were injured.
The policemen and soldiers were said to be in the community for peacekeeping efforts.
