Gunmen suspected to be bandits, armed with sophisticated weapons, attacked workers from the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) along the Gusau-Funtua road on Sunday.
The workers were en route to Abuja for an official assignment when the attack occurred. During the assault, the commission’s coordinator and several others were abducted and taken into the forest.
Sources report that the commission’s driver and two others were killed during the incident.
The attack came just hours after another group of bandits targeted vehicles along the same route, abducting some of the passengers.
