Gunmen kill three policemen at checkpoint in Enugu

At least three police officers have been killed by yet-to-be-identified gunmen in Achi, located in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The attack reportedly occurred at a checkpoint near Ozudaa Market in Achi, causing panic among residents and commuters in the area.

While details of the incident remain unclear as of the time of filing this report, sources confirmed that the gunmen opened fire on the officers stationed at the checkpoint, leading to their deaths on the spot.

Efforts to reach the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, have so far been unsuccessful, as calls to his phone were not answered.

A disturbing video now circulating on social media appears to show the lifeless bodies of the slain officers, though the police are yet to officially confirm the footage or provide further information on the attack.

Security has since been tightened in the area as investigations are expected to commence.
