Hadiza Shagari was a woman of peace – Gov. Ortom mourns ex-President’s wife

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has described the death of wife of former Nigeria’s President, Hajiya Hadiza Shehu Shagari as a painful loss to the country.

The Governor described the late Hadiza Shagari as a woman of peace who added immense value to her husband’s administration and continued to play a motherly role to the nation till her demise yesterday.

Terver Akase, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor in a statement, said Ortom sympathized with the government and people of Sokoto State as well as other Nigerians over the loss of the former President’s wife.

“Governor Ortom prayed God to grant the soul of Hajiya Hadiza enteral rest and the entire Shehu Shagari family the strength to bear the loss.”
