Halima Shehu suspended as NSIPA coordinator

President Bola Tinubu has sanctioned the immediate suspension and investigation of Ms. Halima Shehu, the National Coordinator and CEO of the National Social Investment Program Agency, amid allegations of financial malfeasance.

Dr. Akindele Egbuwalo, the National N-POWER Program Manager, has been appointed in an acting capacity as NC/CEO during the investigation into the accusations.

This suspension comes approximately three months after the Senate confirmed her appointment.

Prior to her current role, Halima served as the National Coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme and had a previous tenure with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development from 2017 to 2022.
