Gabriel Suswam, former governor of Benue State made a ‘triumphant entry’ into the ancient city of Gboko, the traditional stool Tiv kingdom on Wednesday.
This is the first time the ex-governor would be visiting Gboko since his release from detention.Recall that the former governor had on 25 February, 2017 honoured invitation by the DSS over alleged possession of firearms and link with militia gang leader, Terwase Akwaza.
He was, however, detained after he honoured the invitation of the DSS.
He spent amost 70 days with the agency.
Amazingly, the governor, who left huge debt and unpaid salaries for his successor, Ortom, was received by visibly elated mammoth crowd, who chanted his name.
Some excited youths were spotted displaying a banner with the inscription ‘welcome home the people’s leader.’
