Hardship in Nigeria: Tinubu must go protest rocks Lagos, Abuja
As Nigerians mark the June 12 Democracy Day celebration, some aggrieved citizens took to the streets on Wednesday to protest the current state of the country.
Protesters decried the widespread hunger and economic hardship, demanding the removal of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. In Lagos State, demonstrators gathered in Ikeja, emphasizing that Nigerians are struggling to feed their families under Tinubu’s leadership.
The protesters displayed placards with messages such as, “President Tinubu, let the poor breathe,” and “Reverse all anti-people, neoliberal policies of privatization.”
One protester shared their sentiments on X, saying, “We called for it and we are on the street in Ikeja Under Bridge. The tyrannical and oppressive government of @officialABAT must be shown the way out. We are hungry and angry. #WeAreHungryProtest #June12Protest.”
Similarly, in Abuja, protesters gathered under the Berger Bridge to voice their discontent with the Tinubu administration.
