Hardship: Military replies those asking military to overthrow Tinubu

General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), has issued a stern warning to individuals he labeled as “evil people” advocating for a coup in Nigeria amidst the prevailing economic challenges in the country.

Speaking after inaugurating the main entrance of the 6 Division, Nigerian Army, and Officers Transit Accommodation at the Division Headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, the Army chief reiterated the commitment of the Armed Forces to uphold democracy in Nigeria.

Musa emphasized the importance of democracy, stating, “We all want democracy and we thrive better under democracy. Therefore, we will continue to support democracy. Anyone advocating otherwise does not have Nigeria’s best interests at heart and should be wary as the law will hold them accountable.”

He acknowledged the ongoing economic difficulties in Nigeria but assured the public of the government’s focus on addressing them. Musa urged Nigerians to remain patient during this challenging period, highlighting the resilience required for nation-building.

“Every nation encounters challenging times, and it is how we navigate through them that truly defines us. The government is actively working to overcome our present economic challenges. It is through overcoming such trials that we truly appreciate the process of nation-building. Therefore, I assure Nigerians that we will emerge from this stronger,” Musa affirmed.
