Arsenal new signing, Kai Havertz, has expressed his excitement about his new role within the club’s setup. The talented midfielder will be deployed as a central midfielder by manager Mikel Arteta for the upcoming season.
Arteta’s tactical plan involves forming a dynamic trio in the midfield, with Havertz partnering alongside new signing Declan Rice and captain Martin Odegaard.
In an interview with ESPN, Havertz shared his thoughts on the new position, stating, “I really enjoy it, to play that position [as a No. 8]. I am more involved in the game, getting more touches on the ball. I am really enjoying it, and I believe there’s still plenty of room for improvement as I adapt to the role. So far, things are working quite well.”
Scoring goals is a key aspect for Havertz in his role, especially given his height advantage. He emphasized his desire to contribute to the team’s goal-scoring efforts and aims to capitalize on scoring opportunities. “I want to score goals; it’s part of my game. I always have to be present in the box. Hopefully, I can find the back of the net more often in the league,” he added.
On a personal level, Havertz feels right at home with the Arsenal squad, praising the team’s camaraderie and youthful hunger. He expressed his gratitude for the seamless integration into the team and is delighted to be part of such a talented and ambitious group.
