Heartland FC head coach, Christian Obi dies in road accident

Heartland FC has announced the tragic passing of their head coach, Christian Obi, who died in a road accident. The incident occurred on Friday while the Nigeria National League team was en route to Abakaliki to participate in the TICO/SELECT Ifeanyi Ekwueme pre-season tournament.

According to reports, Obi was found unconscious with a slight injury to his right leg when he was evacuated from the severely damaged part of the bus. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital in Okwelle, Onuimo Local Government of Imo State, he sadly passed away.

The remains of Coach Christian Obi have been deposited at the Federal University Teaching Hospital (FUTH) morgue in Owerri, while other injured individuals have been referred to the same hospital for further medical attention.
