Good evening IDOMA VOICE EDITOR,
I want you to kindly publish this on your widely-read news platform.
I am Ose, from Edo State but married to an Idoma man from Ogbadibo.
This is my second year in marriage, although I have never been to his village because his parents are in the city
I put to bed barely four months ago and my doctor advised me to take family planning to avoid taking in so soon.
I discussed with my husband but he told me it is against alekwu tradition to do such. He said the consequence is instant death.
I don’t know much about Idoma culture but I have heard about the alekwu gods but don’t know how true it is.
He told me so many frightening things about the gods and I don’t know how true it is.
The problem now is, I am already pregnant while still nursing my four months old son.
I told him we should do away with the pregnancy but he still refused that it is still against Idoma culture to terminate babies or we that both of us would die.
Kindly let me know how true these claims are?
