Herdsmen strike in Ogun after northern governors’ visit, kill four, others (PHOTOS)

Four persons were confirmed dead, nine injured and properties destroyed as herdsmen attacked some communities in Ogun State.

The areas attacked by the herdsmen include; Eggua, Ketu, Igbooro, Iselu, Agbon-Ojodu, Asa, Ibeku, Imeko and Oja-Odan.

Sources say the incident happened on Sunday. It was learnt that the herdsmen set several houses and shops ablaze, and killed four locals in the process.

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, who confirmed the incident in a meeting with Governors from five Northern States, pledged to sort the hospital bills of those who were injured by the herdsmen and also renovate properties destroyed during the attack.

The Governor said he had asked the Commissioner for Special Duties to collate the list of those that were affected in the attacks.

It is imperative to mention that residents in some of the affected areas in Yewa LGA of the State where Herdsmen attacked and killed some farmers have deserted their homes.
