Manchester United’s newly acquired goalkeeper, Andre Onana, has heaped praise on his former boss Erik ten Hag, describing him as one of the best managers in the world. Onana’s move to Old Trafford has brought him back under the guidance of Ten Hag, with whom he previously worked at Ajax, alongside former teammates Lisandro Martinez, Antony, and Donny van de Beek.
The reunion with his former coach played a significant role in Onana’s decision to join Manchester United. Speaking with the Red Devils’ official website, the Cameroonian shot-stopper expressed the impact Ten Hag has had on his career.
“Yeah, a very big impact, to be honest,” Onana told MUTV.
“We have done a lot of great things together; we reached the semi-final of the Champions League with Ajax. That was not something easy to achieve with a smaller club like Ajax. It’s something you only do every 20 or 25 years.
“We have a great relationship, he’s a top coach, for me one of the best in the world.”
