On Saturday 10th August 2019, Rt. Hon. George Alli, got yet another recognition. This came in the form of an award.
Award for Community Service by the Rotary Club of Asaba Central, Rotary District 9141 Nigeria.
The occasion was the investiture ceremony of Rotarian Jacob Oyilom as the 12th President of the club and launching of the Club’s Community Service Projects for the 2019 – 2020 Rotary year; with the theme Rotary Connects the World.
Rotary International is a non-profit making, non-political and non-religious organization consisting of business leaders and professionals who provide humanitarian aid. Founded in 1905, it has about 1.2 million members, in over 34,000 clubs, spread in 168 countries.
Rotarians carry out actions to eradicate Polio, fight illiteracy, hunger, diseases, and encourage peace and world understanding amongst people.
The Rotary Club of Asaba Central is a member of the Rotary International, belonging to Rotary District 9141 which comprises of 63 clubs with more than 1,400 Rotarians from Bayelsa, Delta, Edo and Rivers States; in the South-south region of Nigeria.
While presenting the award, Rotarian Jacob Oyilom, commended the Chairman for his giant strides in executing projects with far-reaching positive impact in the lives of people of Otukpo Local Govt.
The Chairman who was ably represented by the Council Secretary, Barr. Oyaje Egwa, expressed his appreciation to the entire members of the Rotary Club of Asaba Central for the honour.
