Four operatives of the South West security outfit, Amotekun and a policeman, were badly injured after the corps were attacked by suspected hoodlums on Friday, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
According to online reports, the attack is suspected to be an aftermath of a gang fight at Odeyale area of Ona Ara LGA.
The Oyo State Amotekun commandant, Col. Olayinka Olayanju (rtd), who confirmed the incident in a statement on Saturday said that the men of the outfit came to intervene in a gang clash following a call from Odeyale Community Landlord Association to help restore calm in the area.
Speaking to Channels Television, the Oyo State police spokesman, Gbenga Fadeyi, disclosed that some arrests have been.
He added that investigations into the cause of the violent attacks were ongoing.
The critically injured Amotekun and the policeman are receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of the University College Hospital, Ibadan.
