Houston rapper BeatKing is dead

Houston rapper and producer Justin Riley, widely known as BeatKing or Club Godzilla, has passed away at the age of 39.

While the circumstances of his death remain unclear, his manager confirmed the news in an Instagram post, prompting an outpouring of grief from fans and fellow artists. Three 6 Mafia expressed their sorrow with the message, “RIP MANE!!! GREAT BROTHER!!” A fan commented, “My heart just dropped. Justin, you will be missed… Love ya bro!”

BeatKing gained widespread recognition for his 2020 hit “Then Leave,” which became a viral sensation on TikTok, earning him an international following. Despite his global reach, he was especially beloved in Texas, where his music became a staple at college parties and club scenes throughout the 2010s.

Other notable tracks include “SDAB,” featuring 2 Chainz and Juicy J, “Outside,” and “Keep It Poppin,” featuring Ludacris and Queendom Come.

A pivotal figure in Southern rap, BeatKing was prolific throughout his career, consistently releasing tracks that resonated with millions of listeners.

He is survived by his two daughters.
