A 13-year-old Ugandan schoolgirl reportedly gave birth to a baby boy during a Mathematics examination in the ongoing Primary Leaving Examinations in the East African nation.
It was learnt that the teenager, a pupil of St Balikuddembe Primary School, Jalamba Ward in Buwama Town Council, Mpigi District on Wednesday morning, March 31st, developed labour pains in the examination hall.
According to head teacher of the school, Mr Godfrey Ssema, who confirmed the incident, the young girl alerted the invigilator who called colleagues and rushed the girl to a nearby medical centre.
When contacted by Daily Monitor, the girl’s parents, told them their daughter’s pregnancy was caused by last year’s Covid-19 lockdown.
One of the parents said; “She was lured into conjugal acts during this Covid-19 lockdown by a certain boy because they were not going to school”.
