How 16-year-old high school student allegedly committed suicide in school dining hall

A 16-year-old final year student of Miracles Senior High School Sunyani in the Bono Region, Ghana, identified as Leticia Kyere Pinaman has allegedly committed suicide.

According to Ghana Guardian, the incident happened inside the school located at Baakoniaba, Sunyani east municipality.

It was gathered that the student was found hanging from the ceiling of the school dining hall by her colleagues on Monday, May 17, 2021, around 7:30 p.m. whiles the rest of the students were at the church auditorium for Bible studies.

What led to the incident is not known yet.

Close pals who spoke to Sunyani-based Sky FM indicated that she had been moody the whole day but they could not tell what exactly was wrong with her until they heard of her demise.

Also found on her was a note which read “there is soo much sorrow and pain in my heart”.

The Housemistress of the school, Gifty Acheampong in an interview noted she was at the kitchen where she was ensuring the food for the students when she heard of the incident.

“I was at the kitchen when I heard the students shouting, I rushed there and saw her hanging so I quickly rushed to the church auditorium to call the proprietor and the proprietress. ”

Sunyani Municipal Police Service said the body has been deposited at the morgue of Sunyani Regional Hospital for autopsy.
