Twenty medical students who were kidnapped in Benue State have been successfully rescued, according to security sources.
The National Security Adviser’s office confirmed the rescue to Channels Television on Friday.
The operation was coordinated by the NSA, involving multiple security agencies, including the Nigerian police, the Department of State Services, and military personnel, with significant support from the Benue state government.
Helicopters were deployed by the police earlier in the week to aid in the search and rescue efforts.
It is worth recalling that on August 16, gunmen abducted over 20 medical and dental students, along with a house officer, in Benue State.
