Joseph Gbenga, one of the witnesses called up by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, at the Presidential Election Tribunal, told the court on Friday that the PDP defeated the All Progressives Congress, APC and its candidate, Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina State.
Katsina is the home State of Buhari and Gbenga, who claimed to be an expert data analyst said the President lost in his State.
He told the court that the PDP engaged him to analyse results of the presidential election from 11 states.
While testifying before the Court on Friday, Gbenga admitted not to have been certified by any professional body.
He spoke under cross examination by Buhari’s lawyer, Wole Olanipekun, SAN.
Olanipekun drew the witness’ attention to the the fact that he claimed, in his report, that the petitioners won the election in Katsina, even when, in their petition, the petitioners admitted having been defeated by the APC.
The witness, however, admitted that his claim could not have been a true reflection of the outcome of the last presidential election because he did not analyse all the copies of the election result sheets.
