Popular prophet of the Celestial Church of Christ, Israel Ogundipe, has disclosed that a bank offered him a N1 billion loan to expand his ministry globally.

Ogundipe, founder of Genesis Global Ministry in Lagos, shared this information during an appearance on a show hosted by Nigerian On-Air Personality, Ifedayo Olarinde, known as Daddy Freeze, on Tuesday.

He revealed that the unnamed bank provided details of other churches that had taken similar loans, ranging from N3 billion to N4 billion.

“A bank contacted me two months ago, offering a N1 billion loan.

They suggested that I could repay it through my church’s activities, like revivals and crusades,” Ogundipe said.

“They showed me examples of churches that had taken loans of N3 billion to N4 billion, indicating that those churches sustain repayments through continuous events and activities.”

Ogundipe’s statement comes despite his 2020 conviction for defrauding a London-based architect, which included charges of stealing, unlawful conversion of property, forgery, and fraudulently collecting N14 million and £12,000 from the victim between 2002 and 2005.
