President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a message to the Government of Benue State following the tanker explosion that left many dead.
IDOMA VOICE reported that several persons were on Monday roasted beyond recognition and many vehicles burnt in a tanker explosion that occurred in the State.
Buhari condoled with the government and people of the State over the incident, which occurred in Ahumbe village, along Makurdi.
Buhari’s condolence message was contained in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Monday by his spookesman, Femi Adesina.
Buhari said he was “saddened by the unfortunate loss of lives which could clearly have been avoided.”
He also commended the “efforts of Nigerians who offered immediate assistance to those injured in the incident and took them for further care.”
The President called on “Nigerians to be careful in handling incendiary materials especially petroleum products in order to avoid needless casualties.”
