How Chief Onoja ended several months of darkness in Ufia community, Ado LGA (Photos)

Ufia, a community in Ado LGA, Benue State on Tuesday caught fire with the bonding of oxygen and carbon of jubilation as the talk and do Front line candidate in the 2019 Benue South senatorial election, Chief Dr. Mike Okibe Onoja CON commissioned a 500KVA transformer for the community.
While cutting the tape to commission the already installed transformer, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Benue south senatorial candidate, Chief Onoja, said he donated the item which has Two-year Warranty as part of his philanthropic and humanitarian gesture to assist society and humanity.

“It has always being part of my philosophy to assist the society and help humanity at large. I did not give the transformer because of politics, but to assist humanity, develop community and to enhancing a better life for the people .
“Before now, I had donated transformer to other community,” he said.

Chief Onoja who said that though he was in the senatorial race to win insisted he was first inspired by the need to leave a positive legacy.
“I am into this senatorial race not on the basis of self aggrandizement or what I can benefit, but purely to leave a legacy and of course part of my legacy was the donation of the 500 KVA transformer to Ufia community today he said.

The cross section of personalities who spoke to us said, Chief Onoja brought electricity to the entire Ado LGA when he was the permanent secretary. So it has always being his habit to assist people and develop society.
As civil servant, chief Dr. Onoja has done such much both for his people of Benue south and Nigerians as a whole. While in service, apart from rural electrification in Ado which his intention to extend same to other part of the zone was truncated by some, fearing that he will become the political lord of the zone if allowed.

History has it that, Chief Onoja influenced the construction of Otukpo – Ado road in the 70s/80s, owned credit to the construction of Igumale – Adiga road linking Ado LGA to Okpokwu LGA from his private source as well as the construction of road in Otukpo GRA; also credited for influencing the highest number of Idomas enlistment into the Nigeria Military and recruitment into the Federal Ministry from the 9 LGA without prejudice in his days as Per. Sec. and DG, Fed Min. of Defense.

Chief Onoja in a homage to the Royal Father of the community, Chief Nicholas Isah, Reduke ll of Okwonyo described him as a man of integrity with commitment to humanity and passion for community development.
Earlier in a reaction, the traditional ruler on behalf of his kingdom blessed the senatorial candidate for all his developmental efforts and gestures for the community, praying God to see his aspiration to represent the entire Benue South at the next Section of the National Assembly to fruition.

Youths, students and women group as well as many community leaders in the area all thronged out to appreciate Chief Onoja for taking electricity to Ado and for donating the 500KVA transformer in particular to Ufia community.

The Ufia people in their unanimously said chief Onoja is the only candidate they know and shall express their gratitude on the 16Th day of February, 2019.
