How foreign airlines seek to displace Air Peace on international routes – Shehu Sani

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has revealed that foreign airlines are making efforts to push Air Peace out of international routes.

Sani emphasized that foreign airlines are determined to slash their prices continuously until they effectively eliminate Air Peace from these routes.

Taking to X to share his views, Sani called upon Nigerians to support local airlines as a means to counter the strategies of their foreign counterparts.

He stated, “The aggressive reduction in prices by foreign airlines is a direct response to the presence of Air Peace on these routes. Their aim is clear: to force Air Peace out and then return to their previous high pricing tactics. By choosing our local carriers, we can keep them in check.”

In March, Air Peace commenced its flight operations from Nigeria to London, landing at Gatwick Airport.

The Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, has raised concerns that foreign carriers operating on the Nigeria-UK route are allegedly colluding to drive his airline out of international business through deliberate fare reductions.

Onyema has pointed to an “unspoken alliance” among these foreign airlines, utilizing aggressive pricing strategies to displace Air Peace from the Nigeria-London route.
