Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has acknowledged that if not for God’s intervention, the state would have been consumed by its enemies.
The Governor stated this in his remarks at the luncheon organized by the Makurdi chapter of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International held Saturday, October 8th, 2022 at the Benue Metropolitan Hotel, Makurdi.
Governor Ortom then admonished Benue people not to lose hope but continue to trust in God’s faithfulness, emphasising that, “Your capacity to listen to God and follow his direction is the greatest weapon in all endeavors.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to continue to pursue the cause of justice, equity and fairness, noting that depending on God’s direction is the most important thing to do in life.
He appreciated the prophetic and encouraging words concerning Benue from the servant of God, stating that it was an affirmation of what God would do for the state in the near future.
The Governor noted that the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship has been a platform for many to turn around and serve God, saying the Founder’s vision has continued to promote and impact the gospel globally.
In an exhortation on the topic “Repossessing the Gates,” Professor Mosy Madugba declared that Benue would overcome its travails and “enter into its season of prosperity” as predestined by God.
He encouraged Benue people not to lose hope, saying the gates of authority will be opened and the state would conquer its adversaries and prosperity will boom again in the state.
He acknowledged the courage of the Governor whom he noted has been brave and firm in identifying with the oppression of his people and admonished him to remain steadfast in faith.
The cleric further counselled Governor Ortom not to be afraid to leave office at the expiration of his tenure, adding that “Your future is secured in God and I encourage you to look upon God and the future of Benue State.”
