How Gov Ortom changed my life from living in ‘borrowed’ mud house to a landlord – SSA on ICT

People are sending this screenshot to me asking if I’m the SSA that the poster is talking about, yes I’m the only Benue born SSA to the Governor on Media and ICT and I’m happy to the picture.

This house was my house, I built the house under somebody’s land at Pila Village near Uni Agric gate and I stayed there between 2014 to 2017 before I went and rented 2 bedroom flat behind Verhemba filling station opp officon.

The house was one room with sand blocks before I increased it to two rooms with the burnt bricks .

Only the bedroom was with a door.

The small generator was my source of light as I used it to power my computer and phone.

The goat you are seen there was given to me and Akume Raphael by Tar Timothy Terry when we went and covered his event in Naka in 2016 the time he was sole administrator of Gwer West.

When he gave us the goat instead of killing it to share the meat Akume Raphael told me to give him his share in money which I gave him and took the goat home, I kept it in my house till I used it to celebrate Christmas with my family.

The child is my son Master Samuel Ortom Igbudu who was born in 2015 when Ortom became the Governor and I named him after Ortom because of the love I have for him.

I got appointment to work as Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ortom on MEDIA and ICT on the 15/11/2018 which I was also given a car.

Today is just 2 years and 2months but I think God has been faitful to me as my life has improved after the appointment.

When I got my first three months salary in 2019 I went and rented 2bedroom flat behind Verhemba filling station opp officon, Makurdi.

I used part of the money to also pay my children’s school fees and furnished my room.

In 2019 I was able to buy a 100/100 size plot of land directly opp CAPS, Uni Agric road.

In 2020 I built 3bedroom flat and also three shops by the road side.

In that same 2020 I bought rice milling machines and granding machines for my wife and turned one of the shop to milling house, this business is dirrectly opp CAPS.

Before the end of 2020 somebody was selling a flat with complete tired inside I now bought the house which is 2bedroom flat.

I moved to my new house in December last year where my mothers from village came to appreciate me and also celebrate Christmas with me.

That same day in my house I also received an award as THE PILLAR OF EMERGING ENTREPRENEURS.

Which was given to me by Benue Young Entrepreneurs.

The reason I prefer the house near Lafia garage is because the place is near main lafia road and it when God bless me with more money I can do more things there because the size of the land is 150/110 and borehole in the area is not tasting salty compare to the one at CAPS.

I really thank God because I once stayed in a tatched house worst than the one they are trying to mock me.

I have never claim to come from a rich family , I was born and brought up in the village, my father has never enter inside a house with tired talk more of building it till he died at the age of 115years so I’m grateful to God.

I’m happy that my mother whom I’m her only Son is now sleeping inside a flat I but with my money.

I’m happy that my wife whom I married in 2003, the woman who stayed with me in those thatched houses is now stating in a beautiful house.

By the grace of God I will one day stay in a duplex and upstair which will be build by me I know it will surely come to pass.

In this life I think all you needs to do is to have determination, be patient and be focus then Grace of God will locate you.

I have never been a KWAGHNGUGA appointee and I will never be, the little I get I share with people and I’m still surviving .

Life is a gradual process so I can’t be living a flashy life just to please people , time will come that I will only be imagining things of the past.

I appreciate my boss His execelency the Governor of Benue State Dr Samuel Ortom and his wife Dr Eunice Ortom for changing my life.

I also appreciate the person who went to my house those years to snap the picture and keep it for so long because I happy seen it, some times I wish I could get pictures of those houses I stayed inside before because some of them were worst than this.

I think instead of trying to mock me and Ortom’s appointees it’s good to first of all appreciate God for using Ortom to take some of us out of that condition.

Let’s also appreciate Ortom for the empowering his boys because many of Ortom boys now have cars and private residence build by them from what they are getting as appointees under Ortom’s adminstration.

May God to bless the person who snapped that picture of my house and is able to keep it up to this movement .
