The combined physical efforts of the immediate past Chairman of Ado Local Government, Hon James Oche and officers of the police force led by the Area Commander for Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo, ACP Dimgba Victor has emancipated from the jaws of death, a family that had already been abducted by armed Fulani herdsmen and was been led away.
This took place yesterday 20th of May, 2020 at about 2pm and occurred meters away from the cement factory in Igumale, the Headquarters of Ado Local Government.
Mr. Oche who was in the company of his personal Security and men of the Police Force led by ACP Dimgba were on their way to a crucial meeting with critical stakeholders at the Palace of the Ad’ Ado before they accidentally stormed the abduction scene.
The exchange of gun fire between the herdsmen and the security operatives lasted for a while before the herdsmen, seemingly being overpowered took to their heels abandoning their victims.
The victims, Janet Ochapa, Mercy Attah and James Attah are all family members who were attending the burial of their mother in the village before their car was attacked by the herdsmen who ordered them out and were already leading them into the bush before accidental help arrived from the former council boss and the Area Commander.
In another development and in consideration of the security confrontations that have beclouded Ado Local Government recently, James Oche has sounded a warning that Ado under no circumstances will be surrendered to criminals and assured the people that no stone would be left unturned in the efforts to decimate the perpetrators of evil.
In the last weeks, insecurity in Ado has heightened considerably and even up to this moment, the Local Government Director for Health, Mr. Charles Ogaba Ochapa is still been held in custody by herdsmen who abducted him at Igumale a couple of days ago.
Oche who spoke in strong and unequivocal terms said there would zero tolerance for crime and intimated that all efforts humanly possible were being put in place to rescue Mr. Ochapa and free Ado completely from the shackles of insecurity orchestrated by hoodlums and armed Fulani herdsmen.
