How man was found dead hanging on a tree in Benue

Tragedy struck in the early hours of Friday, 03 July 2020. in Benue as a security guard was found dead hanging on a tree.

The deceased who was popularly called by his nick name, ‘Arunnel’ was a security guard at Government secondary school Ihugh, Vandeikya LGA of Benue state.

It was gathered that the deceased was on guard with his colleague, named Shachia Gbazan popularly called ‘Apadi show’.

Shachia left his duty post at about 5 am on Friday, leaving the deceased who wanted to work for someone that morning.

An initial investigation that he was killed and hanged on the tree threw a lot of people into confusion when some farmers testify that the deceased spoke to them on their way to the farm.

However, a close examination on the body of the deceased shows that he was cutting down branches of a tree when he fall from the top, hitting his head on a branch.

It was also gathered that the deceased was contracted by a staff of the school to cut down tree branches for her so as to stick her farm.

As of the time of filing this report, the staff is nowhere to be found so as to get more information.
