How my mother died – Son of Mammy Markets founder, Ochefu

Professor Yakubu Ochefu, has confirmed the death of his mother, Maria Mammy Ochefu, the founder of Mammy Market, a popular establishment in military barracks across Nigeria.

Pro Ochefu said his mother passed away at the age of 86 in her sleep on Tuesday in Makurdi.

Ochefu, who was 86 years old, was the wife of the late Colonel Anthony Ochefu, a former military governor of Enugu State.

“She had been a patient at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, and would have turned 87 in April this year,” her told Punch.
