How suspected kidnapper of CBN Governor’s wife, Margaret Emefiele was arrested in Otukpo (PHOTO)

A certain Lance Corporal Edwin George, serving in the Nigerian Army, Maiduguri Army Barrack, has been arrested by the police in Otukpo, Benue State in connection with the kidnapping of the CBN Governor’s wife, Margaret Emefiele in Edo state few days back.
He was the last to be arrested of the 3 Army personnel that were involved in the abduction.

IPN News quoted sources as saying that the suspect was tracked to Otukpo, his hometown, where he went to show off the new Honda car he bought with his share of the money collected as ransom.

He was shocked by men of the IRT with Technical Intelligence Support from TIU headed by Abba Kyari, a Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP invaded his hometown and picked him. The sum of N1.1m was also recovered from him.

Meanwhile, N4m cash was recovered from Lance Corporal Musa Maidabara when he was arrested in the Army Barrack at Onitsha while a new Honda Accord Car was recovered from Ernest Anthony.

So far the sum of N14.725 Million along with 2 cars has been recovered from the 9 suspects in the police net.

However, when our correspondent contacted the Benue State Police Command for comment, the state’s PPRO Moses Yamu said his command was not in charge of the case.
