How to apply as a lecture at Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (See requirements)

The management of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, have invited from suitably qualified candidates for appointments into various teaching positions in the institution.

Here are required qualifications obtained by IDOMA VOICE:

Professor:

The candidate must be a Professor with a minimum of twenty (20) publications; five (5) of which should be offshore while (15) must be journal articles). The candidate must have supervised a minimum of one Ph.D. student or three

Masters students. The Departments of Anatomy and Physiology require a degree in Medicine and registration with Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria which will be an added advantage.

Reader/Associate Professor:

The candidate must be a Reader with a Ph.D. degree or Fellowship of National Postgraduate Medical College and its equivalent in relevant field and evidence of outstanding and continuing achievement/teaching experience in a University. Fifteen (15) publications in reputable international and national journals. Ability to supervise a minimum of one Masters or Ph.D. student.

Senior Lecturer:

1) The candidate must possess a Ph.D. degree or Fellowship of National Postgraduate Medical College and its equivalent in the relevant field from a recognized institution plus six (6) years post qualification teaching and research experience. The candidate must also have a minimum of seven (7) publications in reputable journals with evidence of continuous research and ability to supervise graduate students.

2) Senior Lecturer (as applicable to medical Doctors)

  1. a) MBBS plus possession of the final or part II of the relevant fellowship certificate FNMC/FWACS/FWACP and eight (8) reputable publications of national/international journal articles.
  2. b) Ph.D. plus a registration with eight (8) reputable publications of national/international journal articles out of which six (6) must be in print.

Lecturer I

1) The candidate must possess a Ph.D. degree or Fellowship of National Postgraduate Medical College and its equivalent in the relevant field from a recognized institution plus three (3) years post qualification teaching and research experience. The candidate must also have a minimum of Four (4) publications in reputable journals with evidence of continuous research and ability to supervise graduate students

2) Lecturer I (as applicable to medical Doctors)

MBBS plus possession of the final or part II of the relevant fellowship of the National P o s t g r a d u a t e Medical College of Nigeria and its equivalent

Lecturer II

  1. a) A Ph.D. from a recognized University or Master’s degree plus two (2) Journal publications and evidence of Ph.D. registration, relevant professional registration is an added advantage.
  2. b) M.B.B.S plus a minimum of three (3) years cognate teaching experience.

Assistant Lecturer:

A good second class honours degree (not less than 2 class Lower) plus a Master’s Degree.

Graduate Assistant:

A good honours Degree (First or Second class upper) from a recognized Institution and NYSC Certificate/Exemption.
