How to apply for Nigerian Defence Academy 77th regular course

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has officially opened online applications for the 77th Regular Course, offering both male and female Nigerian candidates the opportunity to join military and academic training programs.

The application period, which began on November 6, 2024, will close on April 30, 2025. Successful candidates will undergo a five-year training program, which includes both academic and military training as Officer Cadets at the NDA.

Upon completion of the program, cadets will receive a Bachelor’s degree in their chosen field of study and be awarded a Presidential Commission into the Nigerian Armed Forces.

In collaboration with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the NDA has made it mandatory for applicants to register for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and select the NDA as their first-choice institution.

UTME Requirements
Only applicants who meet the minimum UTME scores will be eligible for further assessment. The required scores are as follows:

  • 180 for Arts, Social Sciences, and Science programs
  • 210 for Engineering courses

Screening Test
The NDA screening test, which is the first stage of the post-UTME assessment, will take place on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Eligible candidates must bring the following documents to the test center:

  • Acknowledgement form
  • Screening Test Admission Card
  • JAMB result slip
  • Two passport-sized photographs (3.5 x 5 inches), with essential candidate information written on the back

Application Process
Interested candidates can begin the application process by visiting the NDA application portal at ndaapplications.net and selecting the “Purchase Access Code” option. For further inquiries, candidates can visit the official website.

Application Fee
The application fee is N7,000, payable via REMITA by generating an Order ID and Retrieval Reference Code on the portal. Payments made without the specific Retrieval Reference Code will not be recognized, and the application will not be processed.

Academic Requirements
NDA offers various undergraduate degree programs across multiple faculties, including Science, Military Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Arts and Social Sciences, and Management Sciences. The general academic requirement is five credits in subjects such as English and Mathematics, obtained in no more than two sittings. Additionally, a working knowledge of French or Arabic will be considered an advantage.

Study Resources
Candidates can purchase past questions and answers from the NDA registry to aid their preparation for the screening test.

This is a unique opportunity for eligible candidates to serve the nation while earning a degree and commission into the Nigerian Armed Forces.
