How to block those annoying pop-up ads in Facebook messenger

We normally see our favourite brand’s Facebook page and we usually like the page to be updated about their latest offerings. We also sometimes communicate with them through the Messenger for general query or voice complaints.

While communicating with retailers has become a lot easier, unfortunately, reaching out to a company this way might get you more that what you had hoped for. In the Messenger update, Facebook has informed advertisers that they can now create News Feed ads that open a conversation in Messenger. So if you ever clicked on one of those ads, in future you can be contacted by that brand in Messenger directly.

On a Phone or Tablet: Go to that retailer’s page and select “Message.” Then select “Manage” in the top right-hand corner and then “Manage Messages.” Select “Block All Messages” and that retailer won’t be able to contact you.

On a Laptop or Desktop: Go to that retailer’s page and select “Message.” A chat window will pop up, select the options icon in the top right-hand corner of the window. Select “Block Messages” from the drop down menu and then again in the confirmation message.
