How to treat sore throat at home

IDOMA VOICE reports: Sore throat Pain or irritation in the throat that can occur with or without swallowing, often accompanies infections, such as a cold or flu.

Most sore throats are caused by infections, or by environmental factors like dry air. Although a sore throat can be uncomfortable, it’ll usually go away on its own.

The symptoms of a sore throat can vary depending on what caused it. A sore throat can feel:

– scratchy

– burning

– raw

– dry

– tender

– irritated

Okpehe/spare grass remedy

Get some leaves from okpehe tree (Prosopis africana) and Heteropogon contortus (spare grass )

Okpehe is a flowering plant species in the genus Prosopis found in Africa. Its common names include African mesquite, iron tree, gele (Malinke) (traditional djembe wood) or somb tree.

Cut the bark of the okpehe tree and dry in the sun for some minutes.

Put the bark under the pot and place the leaves on top.

Boil for about 30 minutes.

Spare grass- Imperata cylindrica

Fetch some quantity in a cup (make sure nobody uses the cup to drink water ever again) open your mouth and allow the smoke into your throat.

You will notice some pus inside the cup. Do this repeatedly for like three minutes.
