Two suspects, Adama Joseph and Oreoluwa Davies, apprehended by the Nigerian Police for the murder of club owner Adeniyi Ojo in Kwara State, have provided chilling details of the crime.
The suspects were paraded in Abuja on Wednesday evening, where they confessed to the heinous act, blaming the late socialite’s alleged greed, stinginess, and lack of care.
The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed during the parade, “On October 6, 2023, police operatives apprehended the two suspects, Adama and Oreoluwa, who are both students of Kwara State Polytechnic for their involvement in the robbery and murder of Mr Adeniyi Ojo, the son of Chief Emmanuel Ojo, a prominent figure in Ilorin, Kwara State.”
According to Adejobi, the suspects lured the victim by pretending to engage in a sexual encounter. However, when he didn’t comply with their demand for money, they resorted to drugging and suffocating him, resulting in his tragic death.
In their statements during interrogation, Adama revealed that the victim had persistently sought a sexual relationship with her, linking her refusal to his former employment under him and subsequent financial negligence after quitting. Oreoluwa corroborated Adama’s account of the event.
“We had finished our ND (National Diploma) programme at Kwara Polytechnic before the incident happened. We didn’t plan to kill him. On that particular day, we intended to steal from him, so we told him that we wanted to engage in BDSM (Bondage, Discipline, Sadism, Masochism), and he agreed to have a threesome with me and my friend (Oreoluwa),” Adama explained.
The suspects narrated the events that unfolded during the crime, describing their attempt to rob the victim, which tragically led to his death. They clarified that their intention was theft and expressed shock upon discovering the victim’s demise after leaving the scene.
BDSM and threesomes were explained as sexual preferences and activities in their statements, shedding light on the context in which they engaged with the victim before the crime took place.
