No fewer than 600 members including the chairmen of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) on Sunday May 17th, 2020 defected to the Peoples Democratic Party in Adoka-Icho and Adoka-Ehaje wards of Otukpo Local Government Area.
The ceremony which was prompted by countless efforts of the defectors ahead of the coming Council Election in Benue State and the General Election in 2023 was described by the State Women Leader of the PDP, Chief Mrs Abeje Egwa who representated Chief Hon. John Ngbede, The Benue PDP Chairman as a very commendable move taken by a people who want to actualise their dreams of experiencing a true democratic dispensation void of false promises.
The member representing Adoka/Ugboju State constituency at the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Micheal Audu while welcoming the decampees assured them of equal rights and previledges under the PDP platform as he commended the chairman of both the APC and APGA for leading their followers to the Party that truly has the interest of the people at heart.
Hon. Oche Joseph Godwin, the CEO of G12 Foundation Club who also graced the occasion extol Hon. Jaja Onuh, Hon. Micheal Acheme, Hon. Rose amongst others who led their troop of supporters to the PDP. Hon. Oche who the Adoka people also donated another office to his Foundation went further to urge the new party members to be steadfast in the delivery of the works for the PDP in order to enjoy the dividends of Democracy which the ruling party in Benue State is willing to execute.
