Operatives from the Owode Egba Police Division have arrested Sholola Kazeem for allegedly pouring hot oil on his wife and stabbing her during a heated argument in Ogun State.
The incident occurred at their residence in the Ring Road community of Owode Egba Local Government Area on Saturday. The altercation escalated when Kazeem, in a fit of rage, attacked his wife, Sholola Mutiat.
Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident, stating that members of the community alerted the authorities at 12:20 pm. The Divisional Police Officer in Owode Egba swiftly responded, visited the scene, and apprehended the suspect.
Odutola explained: “On January 18, 2025, at about 12:20 pm, the Divisional Police Officer received a report from Ring Road community about an incident involving Sholola Kazeem and his wife, Sholola Mutiat. It was reported that Kazeem, in an uncontrollable rage, poured hot oil on his wife’s body and also stabbed her in the head.”
The victim was immediately taken to Ore Ofe Hospital for medical treatment. Odutola further revealed that the crime scene had been processed, and an investigation is underway to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
